Which one is right for my project?\u201d\n    <\/p>\n    <p>Both built on an Agile collaborative, self-organizing, and cross-functional approach, these frameworks were\n        designed to help the development team managers better coordinate and balance work among workers.\n    <\/p>\n    <p>As you&#8217;ll discover in this article, several convergent points are as differences between Kanban and Scrum.\n    <\/p>\n    <p>But, first thing first, let&#8217;s go through what Kanban and Scrum mean and for what kind of projects are suitable.\n    <\/p>\n    <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n    <h2 class=\"header-with-badget\">\n        What is Kanban?\n    <\/h2>\n    <p>Kanban concept finds its roots in Japan, back in 1603, during a stable economic growth when all-size businesses\n        were dealing with a highly competitive environment and trying to draw customers&#8217; awareness and attention.\n    <\/p>\n    <p>This context explains the concept\u2019s meaning defined through two Japanese words: \u201cKan\u201d= sign, and \u201cBan\u201d= board.\n        Shop owners displayed \u201cKanBans\u201d &#8211; signboards &#8211; to help their markets stand out on the street and to draw\n        customers\u2019 attention.\n    <\/p>\n    <p>So, KanBans were, practically, cards designed to communicate as briefly as efficient USPs (uniques selling\n        propositions) about shops\u2019 offers.\n    <\/p>\n    <p>Later, the Kanban concept was taken over as a development methodology by Toyota (more precisely by Taiichi Ohno).\n    <\/p>\n    <p>Today Kanban concept is used, especially as an Agile framework for software development projects. Its primary\n        mechanism of operation consists of visualizing and solving the highest-priority tasks in the backlog.\n    <\/p>\n    <figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"778\" height=\"240\" src=\"https:\/\/www.roweb.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/imagine-1-2.png\" alt=\"Kanban vs Scrum\" class=\"wp-image-4433 simple-no-border img-center\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.roweb.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/imagine-1-2.png 778w, https:\/\/www.roweb.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/imagine-1-2-300x93.png 300w, https:\/\/www.roweb.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/imagine-1-2-624x192.png 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 778px) 100vw, 778px\" \/><\/figure>\n    <p>Being card-based, Kanban is practically a \u201cpull system\u201d where team members take over a card when they know they\n        have the capacity for it.\n    <\/p>\n    <p>This framework helps the development teams provide continuous improvement and processes, keep them flexible,\n        reduce the number of work-in-progress tasks, and accelerate the leap from &#8220;Doing&#8221; to &#8220;Done.&#8221;\n    <\/p>\n    <p><b>Kanban advantages:\n        <\/b><\/p>\n    <ul class=\"blue-checkbox\">\n        <li>flexible methodology;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>keep the team\u2019s effort balanced;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>team members have equal roles;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>focus on providing workflows visualization;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>flexible objectives split (e.g., work in progress tasks can be split in To plan, To check, Doing, etc.);\n        <\/li>\n        <li>shortened time cycles: limit work in progress stage;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>a Kanban card is designed to keep in one place all the work and the flow\u2019s history;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>collaborative improvements: the team continuously improves the process.\n        <\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p><b>Kanban team:\n        <\/b><\/p>\n    <ul class=\"blue-checkbox\">\n        <li>Service Request Manager (SRM) &#8211; in charge to understand the clients\u2019 needs and expectations;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>Service Delivery Manager (SDM) &#8211; improves the efficiency of the workflow;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>Team members (developers, QA, etc.).\n        <\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p><b> When is Kanban the right choice for your project?<\/b>\n    <\/p>\n    <p>Kanban is suitable, especially for ongoing processes and projects. It was built on the model provided by Hirotaka Takeuchi and\n        Ikujiro Nonaka (authors of &#8220;The New New Product Development Game&#8221;) in 1986. Its main focus is on\n        getting things done faster by dividing work into stages &#8211; sprints.\n    <\/p>\n    <p><b>Scrum advantages:\n        <\/b><\/p>\n    <ul class=\"blue-checkbox\">\n        <li>well-structured approach;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>clear start and finish dates;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>the opportunity to use the same team for multiple projects;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>daily meetings for keeping tasks and objectives on track;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>clearly defined team roles;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>clearly defined responsibilities;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>easy to identify where improvements are needed;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>high level of predictability &#8211; rare situations of changing priorities.\n        <\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p><b>Scrum team:\n        <\/b><\/p>\n    <ul class=\"blue-checkbox\">\n        <li>Product Owner &#8211; acting as team manager and as an interface with the client;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>Scrum Master &#8211; keep the team stick to the Scrum principals;\n        <\/li>\n        <li>Developers.\n        <\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p><b>When is Scrum the right choice for your project?\n        <\/b><\/p>\n    <p>If you are about to <a href=\"\/services\/dedicated-team\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">develop a\n            complex project with an external team<\/a>, Scrum will be the right choice for you, being higly predictive\n        (you\u2019ll have great control over every project\u2019s stages, deadlines and deliverables).\n    <\/p>\n    <p><b>Kanban vs Scrum\n        <\/b><\/p>\n    <p>Both frameworks &#8211; Kanban and Scrum &#8211; come with several advantages.
