\n You may know about Roweb, about our projects and our plans. But what do\n you (really) know about us? About our story? What made us what we are\n today?\n <\/p>\n

\n From teaching to managing IT projects, from a business idea to\n developing Roweb as a brand\n <\/h2>\n

Q: What inspired you to start a business in IT?<\/h3>\n

\n Viorel<\/b>: As a teacher, I’ve met students with great potential.\n It’s one of the privileges of teaching: to see not only what a student\n is, but also what he\/she can become someday. Their enthusiasm and\n capabilities were definitely an inspiration for me. On the other hand,\n I’ve noticed a real potential for creating an IT company on the market.\n So, putting these two together, I’ve realized soon that it would be a\n real lost opportunity not to involve some of my (former) students in a\n bold project.\n <\/p>\n

Q: How and when\u2026 has everything started?<\/h3>\n

\n Viorel<\/b>: The initial start of the company was in 2000. The top\n management from then was different. But the management has crystallized,\n and shortly we’ve built a stable team. So, in this context, my former\n students became my business partners (Razvan Veliscu, Gabriel Rosu, and\n Mirel Ionescu).\n <\/p>\n

Q: About Roweb\u2019s first projects\u2026<\/h3>\n

\n Viorel<\/b>: Our very first project was a B2B portal: IT TradeOnline – a trading platform for second-hand computers from the US.\n <\/p>\n

\n This B2B portal provided our first custom software development projects\n for the international market. Moreover, we developed some projects in\n Romania – BursaPC being the most successful one at that time.\n <\/p>\n

\n Looking back, I think starting a company from scratch and developing IT\n projects for such a young market were bold steps, even for an IT team.\n \n <\/p>\n

But if I had to choose to do it all over again, I’d still have no\n hesitation.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Q: When did the brand\u2019s name come for the first time on the market?<\/h3>\n

\n Viorel<\/b>: In 2004, we named the company Roweb. After choosing that\n name, we’ve created the website – our very first online business card.\n <\/p>\n

\n In the context described above, the name Roweb came from a mix between\n our company’s focus (at that time) – on web – and the Ro code (a prefix\n that indicates that we are Romanians).\n <\/p>\n

\n Since then, our business has developed in other directions (more complex\n projects). However, the Ro code remains still a clear indicator that we\n work with Romanian developers and that our company’s shareholding is\n 100% Romanian.\n <\/p>\n

Q: How different is today\u2019s Roweb from 2004\u2019s?<\/h3>\n

\n Viorel<\/b>: Today\u2019s Roweb is a bigger company that provides more complex services, and solutions, counts over 130 employees, has offices in 3 cities\u2026 Speaking in numbers, today\u2019s Roweb is different from the initial one.\n\n <\/p>\n

\n But these are only numbers. Behind them, the story remained somehow the same. And I think that this is one of our greatest accomplishments: that we succeeded to keep the same approach over the years. We\u2019ve never wanted to become a corporation. We define our company as a human-centric one and I hope this thing won\u2019t change anytime soon.\n\n <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n

Q: What word would describe the best Roweb\u2019s employees?<\/h3>\n

\n Viorel<\/b>: Loyalty is for the developers that have been in the\n company for over\u202610\u202615 years. ‘Cause, yes, we have many senior\n developers (in key job positions) that started their career in IT at\n Roweb and are still here.<\/p>

They are part of our story and made Roweb what\n it is today.<\/span><\/b><\/p>

They also play an important role in maintaining a friendly\n work environment, onboarding newcomers, and helping them adapt fast\n (with projects, teams, colleagues, etc.) And, of course, they manage our\n long-lasting ongoing projects (as\n Whise<\/a>,\n Tourpaq<\/a>,\n nGage<\/a>, etc.)\n <\/p>\n

\n For our youngest or latest onboarded employees – enthusiasm is the word\n that best describes them. They come to Roweb with a fresh approach and a\n lot of initiatives – and this way, they make a real difference.\n <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\n Roweb\u2019s journey\n <\/h2>\n

\n Q: Roweb\u2019s longest project started over 15 years ago. What makes a\n client choose to work with a provider for so long?\n <\/h3>\n

\n Viorel<\/b>: One of our key differentiators on the market is the\n relationship developed with clients. A healthy business relationship\n means trust, first of all. Not money, not winning a specific benefit.\n Profitability is an effect of a work well done, of transparency,\n counting on expertise for innovative solutions, having initiative, and\n having a genuine desire to deliver valuable assets.\n <\/p>\n

\n We started working for Whise in 2007\n <\/a>\n and for\n Tourpaq in 2008-2009<\/a>. And these are only two examples from our portfolio. There are several\n ongoing projects started many years ago.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Some of our clients developed a digital solution with our teams for the\n first time – starting, that way, their digital transformation with us\n (building or rebuilding complex digital solutions from scratch). And we\n have, also, several clients in our portfolio that chose to extend their\n tech teams by working with our professionals.\n <\/p>\n

\n In both cases, their success is also their prerequisite to expand, and\n their expansion represents our path to growth.\n <\/p>\n

\n There was no pattern for reacting to challenges brought by projects. But\n we had a pattern in the way we are doing our job: knowledge + stable\n teams + initiative + transparency.<\/span><\/b>\n <\/p>\n

\n So, getting back to the question above, in projects like Whise or\n Tourpaq clients know that they can count on us no matter what. Once we\n committed to providing them with\n custom software development services<\/a>\n for building (a) specific solution(s), we made sure we’d keep that\n promise.\n <\/p>\n

\n Q: Most of Roweb\u2019s projects are from the international market. Is there\n a specific reason for that?\n <\/h3>\n

\n Viorel<\/b>: From the beginning we\u2019ve approached the international\n market considering that we should be more focused on opportunities\n rather than limitations.\n <\/p>\n

\n We are interested in accessing complex projects to get us outside our\n comfort zone and trigger our potential, but also reliable enough to\n engage stable teams on long runs. \n <\/p>\n

\n Working with valuable human resources like our developers involves a certain level of responsibility: to make them part of engaging projects.\n\n <\/p>\n

\n On the other hand, the company’s growth can be guaranteed only through\n solid projects and long-term collaborations.\n <\/p>\n

\n So, we didn’t choose between the Romanian market and the international\n one. West Europe was, at some point, more ready for accelerating digital\n transformation than other regions. So, our services found solid ground\n for solid roots in this market. That’s why most of our projects are from\n the international environment (especially from the UK).\n <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\n Perspectives: new plans and objectives\n <\/h2>\n

Q: What about Roweb in 2025? If you would make a projection\u2026<\/h3>\n

\n Viorel<\/b>: For me, Roweb in 2025 is beyond a simple projection. It’s\n a plan. Soon we will speak about Roweb as a company with\n more offices in Romania and abroad (UK being one of them), having an\n even higher diversity in terms of employees (age\/gender, skills,\n nationality), technologies, industries, approaches and portfolio. We intend from now we intend to double the nowadays Roweb from all the\n perspectives mentioned.\n <\/p>\n

\n And, above all that, it will be more able than ever to keep a work\n environment able to cluster diverse people through one solid bridge: the\n passion for IT.\n <\/p>\n\n\t\t\t
