How we started<\/h2>\r\n

\r\n In 2004, we started as a small team. One former teacher (CEO &\r\n Co-Founder Viorel Costea) and its (also former) students (Gabriel Rosu,\r\n Mirel Ionescu, Razvan Veliscu) reunited after some years, but unchanged in\r\n their passion for IT, and decided to work together.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n Our first projects were, from the beginning, challenging and exciting at the\r\n same time, with the main focus on developments that were only in their early\r\n years on the worldwide markets.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n “Our very first project was a B2B portal: IT TradeOnline \u2013 a trading\r\n platform for second-hand computers from the US. This B2B portal provided our\r\n first custom software development projects for the international market.\r\n Moreover, we developed some projects in Romania \u2013 BursaPC being the most\r\n successful one at that time. Looking back, starting a company from scratch\r\n and developing IT projects for such a young market were bold steps, even for\r\n an IT team. But if I had to choose to do it all over again, I’d still have\r\n no hesitation.” (<\/strong> interview with Viorel Costea<\/strong><\/a> – CEO & Co-Founder)<\/strong>\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n Approaching a niche market with growth potential was great, but more was\r\n needed. We also wanted to spread the word about our company and generate\r\n awareness in both national and international environments for Roweb as a\r\n brand.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n “One of the most critical directions I took in the company from the\r\n beginning was the off-line and online marketing part. It takes a lot of\r\n work. When Roweb started to exist as a brand in the tech market, digital was\r\n still taking its first steps. Companies began to see it as an opportunity,\r\n but they needed to figure out exactly where and how to start. At the same\r\n time, the digital marketing channels were also still in the Romanian market.\r\n

\r\n From the website structure to the texts and the visual approach, I was 100%\r\n involved in building a brand in the digital environment. Then came\r\n participation in business and tech events. (There were more and more\r\n channels through which we communicated at the time, but I think these two\r\n are by far the most important \u2013 hence our first qualified leads that later\r\n became customers)\u201d (from the<\/strong> interview with Mirel Ionescu<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 Managing Partner)<\/strong>\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n Relying on hard work and constant professional growth, we made possible the\r\n expected results\u2026 and much more. In only a few years, Roweb had a stable\r\n portfolio, received recommendations for developing new challenging projects,\r\n and grew its team by attracting skilled professionals from the local market.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n “In 2006-2008, I remember that there was a growth boom for us. Practically,\r\n a few years later, we created the Roweb company. We switched to .NET\r\n technologies and started working with larger clients.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n An example of a client I worked with was First American (developing banking\r\n systems based on payment processing). Then, I learned a lot about large\r\n databases, applications with millions of transactions and modern software\r\n architectures \u2013 for example, web services. Practically, we had the\r\n opportunity to work with people from outside the company, thus seeing how\r\n they approach things. I would say that this was a turning point for me as\r\n well, at least from a technical perspective.\u201d (<\/strong>interview with Gabi Rosu \u2013 Managing Partner<\/strong><\/a>)<\/strong>\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n On our way to development, we faced diverse challenges, from adapting fast\r\n to new industries or specific project requirements to understanding each\r\n client’s needs and providing them with technical advice that suits their\r\n business’s focus.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n “The biggest challenge comes from the fact that you have to help everyone\r\n find their place in the team and help them choose what suits them best.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n And this is in a much-changed context. I started by coordinating a team with\r\n two people, and I have 25 developers I work with today.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n Each client comes with its challenges. However, each client has a\r\n personality and way of managing the project. Therefore, everyone is\r\n different, even if the industry\/type of application is the same. Some\r\n clients have a solid technical background and know very clearly what they\r\n expect, but clients need consulting to define their development needs\r\n correctly.\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n Of course, it is easiest for us to work with those with technical knowledge,\r\n but the challenge of offering consultancy to those who need guidance is\r\n exciting.\u201d (\r\n interview with Razvan Veliscu<\/a>\r\n – Managing Partner.)\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n Now, the company is incomparably larger, with about 150 developers, teams in\r\n multiple cities, offices in several cities in Romania, a portfolio\r\n consisting of 80% of projects developed for the international environment,\r\n and clients from countries such as: Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland,\r\n USA.\r\n <\/p>\r\n
